Reading Areas

Location: Level I - V
 

  • Reading areas are designed to meet the needs of students, faculty, and researchers.
  • These are categorized into five levels, from Level I to Level V.
  • Reading areas are typically for quiet individual study, offering more private, silent spaces for in-depth research and reading.
  • These levels are designed to provide library users with a comfortable, supportive space to engage with their studies and research.
  • All reading halls are Wi-Fi enabled and have Internet kiosks.

Group Study Areas (UG)

Location: Level  I & II

  • The group study areas promote collaborative learning, helping students to engage more deeply with their coursework through discussions and shared problem-solving. 
  • Provided multiple round tables with comfortable chairs to facilitate group discussions. 
  • A small group of students could sit around each table.
  • Suitable for student discussions related to their studies, group-oriented class assignments, and projects.
  • Encourages collaborative learning and teamwork among students, promoting a more interactive and engaging academic experience.
  • Adequate lighting, charging points, Wi-Fi, and comfortable seating enhance the overall study experience, making it easier for students to focus and stay productive.
     

Group Study Area (PG and Research)

Location: Level III

  • The space will be exclusively available to postgraduate students, researchers, and supervisors.
  • This area facilitates collaboration among postgraduate students, researchers, and research supervisors, providing an ideal environment for project work, networking, and in-depth discussions.
  • The space has round tables and seating arranged to promote group discussions.
  • The area has adequate lighting, Wi-Fi, and multiple charging points to support researchers working on joint projects, enabling them to collectively brainstorm and advance their work.

Private Study Area

Location: Level III

  • The Private Study Area is designed to provide users with a quiet, distraction-free environment to focus on individual work.
  • This area is ideal for deep concentration, reading, and personal study.
  • They are perfect for those who require solitude for in-depth reading, research, or preparing for exams

General Reading Area

Location: Level IV

  • The General Reading Area has a selection of general books, magazines, and newspapers, making it a great spot for casual reading.
  • The General Reading Area offers a relaxed atmosphere for users 

Computer Lab

Location: Level III

  • The Computer Lab is a fully equipped space that provides various digital services to support academic and research activities.
  • It offers access to computers with internet browsing capabilities, allowing users to search for online resources, conduct research, and access academic databases.
  • The lab is equipped with scanning and printing facilities.

Internet Kiosks

Location: Level I - V

  • The Internet Kiosks located on all five levels of the library provide users with access to the Internet.
  • These kiosks are to ensure easy access to online resources.
  • Each kiosk is equipped with a computer connected to the internet.

Self Service Scanning

Location: Level I

  • The Self-Service Scanning facility on Level I offers users a convenient and efficient way to digitize documents, allowing them to quickly scan books, notes, or other materials without assistance.
  • The scanning station is equipped with a high-quality scanner that enables users to easily convert required pages of physical documents into digital formats, such as PDFs or image files.
  • The self-service scanning facility is accessible during library hours and offers an alternative to traditional photocopying.

Self Check In and Check Out

Location: Level I

  • The Shelf Check-Out & Self Check-In Kiosk on Level I provides a fast and convenient way for library users to borrow and return books without needing assistance from library staff.
  • This self-service kiosk allows users to check out items directly from the shelves and check them back in when they are finished reading.
  • The kiosk is available during library operating hours, ensuring the easy process of borrowing and returning materials at any time.

Books Drop Box

Location: Level I (Lobby Area)

  • The Books Drop Box located in the Level I (Lobby area) at the library offers a convenient way for users to return books.
  • This drop box is easily accessible and allows returning books without visiting the circulation desk.
